Our campaigns
Our campaigns are shaped by the voices and experiences of young carers themselves.
2024-25 Early Identification
We want to get young carers identified in schools so they can access support earlier, as well as getting Ofsted to ask about young carers in school inspections.
2023-24 Health & WB
In our third campaign year, the group want to focus on reducing impacts on young carers’ health and wellbeing.
2022-23 Education
In the third year of the network (2022-23), the group wanted to raise awareness about young carers with education providers, help schools prepare and respond to the new schools’ census category, and help schools and other education settings better support young carers.
2021-22 Mental Health
In the second year of the network (2021-22), the group wanted their collective campaign to focus on mental health.
2020-21 Education
In the first year of the network (2020-21), the group wanted their collective campaign to focus on identifying and supporting young carers in education settings.
“YCNV has enabled dozens of young carers from different young carer services to learn from each other and to drive a campaign based on what the young people feel is important. It has also enabled their voices and experiences to feed directly into the first-ever parliamentary inquiry relating to young carers, utilising creative methods of capturing their views.”
