2022-23 Education

In the third year of the network (2022-23), the group wanted to:

• raise awareness about young carers with education providers, help schools prepare and respond to the new schools’ census category, and help schools and other education settings better support young carers.

• You can read more about their campaign and find their new education resource here, along with template emails and social media posts they co-created, to encourage others to raise awareness about the resource.

• The resource is being shared with education providers across all member organisations. It has also been shared across all members of the Young Carers Alliance and added to the national Young Carers in Schools website, so it will hopefully reach schools and colleges all over the country!

• Young people from YCNV have also been involved in meeting the Children’s Commissioner and the APPG for Young Carers and Young Adult Carers, where they shared their experiences and the issues that are most important to them.
