Email Title: FAO Student Support / Pastoral / Young Carers Lead 

Message from our Young Carers National Voice members  

We are a group of Young Carers who are campaigning to improve the lives of children and young people who provide practical and/or emotional care and support to their loved ones who have long term physical or mental illnesses, disabilities, or drug/alcohol issues.   

There are around 1 million Young Carers across the UK yet 72% of schools identified zero on the 2024 school census.   

We want to help you to take action!  

We have created this assembly resource pack because we want you to know who we are, what we do and to help support us.   

Young Carers Action Day is on 12th March with a theme of ‘Give Me A Break’. Will you support us and other Young Carers by:  

• Delivering a 10-min young carer assembly for all year groups  

• Completing one activity (10/15/20 mins) from our resource pack with students 

School training around Young Carers would also be great, and [NAME OF YC ORGANISATION] have lots of training and resources like assemblies and lesson plans to help you identify and support us.
